Editor’s note: With temperatures climing up Tuesday, we thought we would republish this handy list on how to stay cool and be active in the water.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer is almost here. Soon, the hot weather will welcome swimmers to Lake Michigan, Milwaukee County<\/a> pools and splash pads, and Milwaukee Recreation<\/a> open swims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you just want your child to learn the basics or you\u2019re an experienced swimmer looking for advanced instruction, check out these swim classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swim classes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee\u2019s recreation swim program offers 30-minute private swim lessons that are open to community members 4 years and older at the Klotsche Center Pool, 3409 N. Downer Ave. Apply here<\/a>. More information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee County Parks<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Classes for beginners to advanced swimmers ages 5 to 16 are available through Milwaukee County Parks at different pools around the city running from June to August. Register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee Recreation<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee Recreation still has spots open in some swim classes ranging from beginner to advanced for youths between the ages 6 and 14 from June to August. Register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where to swim<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Swimmers have a few options for pool access this summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee County Parks has two indoor pools in the city and several outdoor pools that open June 20. Milwaukee Recreation\u2019s<\/a> summer open swim and lap hours also start on June 20 at four Milwaukee Public Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
